All of our warranties cover manufacturing defects in the flooring. This means that provided the flooring is installed and cared for correctly, it will be structurally sound and not wear out during the specified warranty period. Note that flooring warranties do not cover fading. All products will fade over time when exposed to UV; however, some are more fade-resistant than others.

Our acoustic systems are part of an internal assembly, therefore a fire rating is not usually required. PhoneStar soundproofing boards have a fire rating of class E.

No. Phonestar boards cannot be used as a final finishing layer, Phonestar is used in conjunction with plasterboard to increase the overall sound reduction of wall systems.
Phonestar boards are highly engineered German-manufactured boards using three key principles in acoustics to block sound.
Mass or weight is a key element in reducing sound transfer, and Phonestar boards are full of Quartz sand.
Sound is vibration; having loose filling scatters the sound waves as it travels through the board, soaking up the energy of the sound.
The corrugated triple-layered construction used in Phonestar Tri boards acts as a spring between each layer of sand, absorbing sound energy as it travels through the board.
Phonestar boards are easily cut using any standard cutting power tools (jig saw, skill saw, etc.) or simply a craft knife. A small amount of sand trickles out as the board is cut. The cut end is then sealed using Phonestar tape before being installed.
Phonestar is tested to handle a point loading of 4kn. Depending on the final floor covering, Phonestar boards have been tested to handle up to 20kn point loading when a 7mm laminate is installed on top
Only floating floors can be installed directly over Phonestar boards. When installing glue-down floors, e.g. tiles, timber, sheet vinyl, our 4mm decoupling plate must first be glued onto the phonestar boards.
Yes. Phonestar recommends using the Ardex (When we know) waterproofing system. However, the 4mm decoupling plate must first be installed for this system to be used.

Each range has different requirements for the level of the subfloor. It is important to ensure your subfloor is within these. Please refer to the relevant installation guide for your flooring.
Providing that the floor of the bathroom/toilet is not connected to any other area (e.g. expansion trim in the doorway), you can install your toilet on top of your flooring.
Yes, you need to leave the required amount of expansion around the entire perimeter of the floor. This is to allow the flooring to expand and contract with changing humidity and temperature. Skirting or quarter-round trim is used to cover this gap. If more expansion is required, the wall linings can be undercut to provide the required expansion gap. Please refer to each range's installation guide for the amount of expansion required.
No, installing your kitchen on your floor will prevent the floor from its natural movement and cause problems with your floor. Your kitchen kickboards will cover the edge of the flooring.

You must not have a waterfall-end benchtop sitting on the floor; this will pin the flooring and prevent natural movement. The waterfall end will need to be cut to fit over the flooring; otherwise, an aluminium trim will need to be installed around it to allow the required expansion.
